His Life and Teachings : Introduction

Sri Satya Sai Baba is a World Spiritual Teacher. He was birn on 23rd November,1926 of pious parents in the village of Puttaparthi in South India. He has established his Ashram there.

As a child he demonstrated the qualities of compassion, wisdom, the desire to serve others and great respect for elders. He also displayed remarkable miraculous power and knowledge, and talent in drama, music and dance. He could quote from and discuss the spritual texts without even having studied them.

At the early age of 14 years, he left his brother's home where he lived and declared that he had work to do and that his devotess were calling him.

He has declare his Mission in the following terms:-

" I have resolved to enfold the people of the world in the fostering care of UNIVERSAL LOVE............. For the world is my mansion and the continents are the halls therein. I have come to inscribe a golden chapter in the history of humanity, wherein falsehood will fail, truth will always triumph, and virtue will reign. Charter will confer power then, not knowledge or inventive skill, nor wealth. Wisdom will be enthroned in the councils of the nations. Do not be misled. It is not my purpose to strike men dumb by the display of miraculous might. I have come to confer the boon of blessedness, the benediction of bliss, as the reward for genuine spirtual endeavour, and to lead mankind into Liberty, Light and Love".

In short, his Mission is the spirtual regeneration of humanity through the spirtual values of truth, rightteous conduct, peace, love and non-violence.

Throughout his life he has practised what he has taughted and says, "My Life is My Message ".
